Gus joined the litigation and commercial team of Baldwins’ Wellington office in January 2005. He has an honours degree in law, and a science degree specialising in molecular biology and genetics.
Prior to joining Baldwins, Gus was a Senior Associate in the intellectual property and commercial disputes (litigation) teams of a major international law firm in Melbourne.
In this capacity he was also the coordinator of a team of 60 lawyers providing pro bono legal services to the homeless under the auspices of the Public Interest Law Clearing House (PILCH). Prior to this Gus was Associate to the Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia. While a member of the Faculty of Law at Monash University, Melbourne, Gus taught a range of subjects (including torts, contract, corporations law and administrative law), and conducted research on intellectual property law and genomics. He is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Courts of Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory
