Simon joined Baldwins in April 2009 as a Patent Executive based in our Wellington office. He specialises in pharmaceutical, biochemical and genetic patents.  Simon is currently studying towards his law degree at Victoria University of Wellington and to become a registered New Zealand patent attorney.

Simon graduated from the University of Otago with an Honours degree in Biochemistry. He then went on to complete a Masters on the same topic. Prior to starting at Baldwins, Simon had about 2 years experience as a patent examiner at the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand.

Prosecuting patent applications for international pharmaceutical, biochemical and genetic organisations; conducting patentability and freedom to operate searches; providing patentability and infringement advice to local clients; drafting patent applications.
